July 14, 2023 WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Environmental Protection Agency today (EPA) affirmed health and environmental justice advocates’ concerns about the toxicity of diisononyl phthalate (DINP) by publishing a final rule mandating pollution reporting for the toxic chemical.

Honoring Nancy Evans

Nancy Evans was a remarkable figure whose many contributions left a lasting legacy in the fields of breast cancer prevention and environmental health. With her passing on June 11, 2023, the breast cancer prevention community mourns the loss of a dedicated health science writer, breast cancer survivor, and passionate activist. Nancy’s work as a pioneer in the environmental health movement revolutionized and shaped the mission of Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP).

Climb Against the Odds 2023

This year we are honored to welcome 22 volunteer climbers from across the country. They will attempt to climb Mt. Shasta (14,179 ft) to challenge the 1 in 8 odds of a woman’s breast cancer diagnosis. Many climb in honor of their breast cancer diagnosis or a loved one, carrying prayer flags inscribed with names up the mountain. They all climb for prevention so that no one should have to hear the words “You have breast cancer.”
