Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP) will host a gala anniversary dinner tonight celebrating over 30 years as one of the country’s leading nonprofits focused on breast cancer prevention. The sold-out dinner, to be held at San Francisco’s Julia Morgan Ballroom, will pay tribute to BCPP’s collective achievements, and commemorate the visionaries who have been instrumental in the organization’s continued success.

“BCPP has always had a particular focus on eliminating toxic chemicals and other risk factors linked to breast cancer,” commented Suzanne Price, Interim CEO. “As we celebrate tonight’s anniversary milestone, we look toward the future and envision a world that is free of these environmental threats. Together we can prevent breast cancer before it ever starts.”

Tonight’s dinner will also highlight one of BCPP’s most important initiatives: the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC). Currently celebrating its 20th year, CSC has engaged millions of consumers to move the $100 billion cosmetics industry toward a new standard of safer beauty and personal health care products.

In addition to celebrating the broad impact of BCPP’s work over the past few decades, the Luminary Gala will also honor the following individuals:

• Dr. Linda Birnbaum, Ph.D., former Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) of the National Institutes of Health, and the National Toxicology Program (NTP)
• Hannah Diop and Issa Rae, Co-Founders, Sienna Naturals’
• Kiran Stordalen, in memoriam of Horst Rechelbaucher, the Father of Safe Cosmetics, Founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients
• The 12 founding Mothers of Safe Cosmetics: Janet Nudelman, Charlotte Brody, Stacy Malkan, Jeanne Rizzo, Felicia Eaves, Jane Houlihan, Jamie MCConnell, Heather Sarantis, Cindy Luppi, Lisa Archer, Mia Davis, and Bryony Schwan.
