SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – On May 23, 2018, LUNAFEST®, the film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in support of a good cause, was hosted by BCPP at Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco.

This unique festival experience offers nine short films by women filmmakers. They range from animation to fictional drama and cover topics such as health, body image, relationships, cultural diversity, and breaking barriers.

The event was held in partnership with Dolby Laboratories and hosted in their state of-the-art Dolby Cinema located at 1275 Market Street, San Francisco. Popular filmmaker Megan Brotherton will be participating in a panel discussion with BCPP President and CEO, Jeanne Rizzo following the screening.

“LUNAFEST is a dream come true festival for me because it has brought my film to a much wider audience than I would have had access to otherwise,” said Megan Brotherton, 2018 LUNAFEST Filmmaker.

“It is vital for the health and well-being of our society that women’s stories are heard and seen. We are proud to be partnered with Dolby and LUNA bar supporting remarkable narratives highlighting women in film,” said Jeanne, President and CEO, BCPP.

“Dolby is dedicated to supporting up and coming filmmakers and we are proud to sponsor and host the 17th Annual Lunafest Women’s Film Festival at the Dolby Cinema at 1275 Market,” said Jennifer Bowcock, Vice President, Global Communications and Chair, Women’s Empowerment Network Group, Dolby Laboratories. All proceeds from LUNAFEST will benefit BCPP, a nonprofit organization focused on preventing cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiations linked to the disease.

To date LUNAFEST, which is created and funded by LUNA®, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women®, has raised more than $3 Million for nonprofit organizations across the US and Canada.
